Dr. Lucía Álvarez is a chemist and structural biologist specialising in protein structure, dynamics, and reaction mechanisms. Her work combines computational chemistry, biophysics, structural biology, and cellular approaches to understand how proteins achieve their biological functions and regulate innate immune responses. Her research trajectory includes the University of Buenos Aires, the Institute for Biotechnological Research at UNSAM, and EMBL Heidelberg. At Ehrenbolger, she contributes an interdisciplinary perspective connecting molecular science, critical analysis, and public communication.
